Available Species

Picking a species to play could be the hardest part. Staff has some species that have been fleshed out for the site and there is always room for more. If you would like to play a character that does not fit into this list do not feel limited. Staff is always here to help. Some species that have already been fleshed out for our lore are listed below with links to learn more about them. The symbols to the left indicate what kind of nature the creature is.

Humanoids

Rumored to have been born from the rays of the sun itself, Angels are the patrons of all things light, working together to stop the darkness from infiltrating the world.

All demons originally started as Angels when Antarsia was first made by the gods, but after turning to the dark side, their genetic make up made them different from those they once called brother and sister. No longer are they angels by any means, but instead have become their own species.

Dwarves are some of the best smiths this world has to offer. They live primarily in the mountain ranges and have an intense rivalry with local dragons.

The elves, known to most as the guardians of the forest, are a peaceable people. Once only comprised of one group, now the elves have split into three different types: the Foraoise, Coillte, and Docha, the last of which are a darker, more violent people than its other two counterparts.

A small, elusive species of winged humanoids with incredible magical abilities.

They are considered some of the brightest and most intellectual species in Antarsia. They are known for their simple, yet elaborate houses and cities.

The embodiment storm winds, Harpies are bird-like women that are split into two species: Hesoid and Dantan.

Humans may be weaker then the other species, but that does not make them unable to survive. They thrive in numbers and often have the biggest advantage there.

A unique and diverse species, kelahati are as varied as the animals they take after. They have a natural way with animals, and are experts in the wilderness.

Aquatic beings with the torso of a human and the tail of aquatic creatures. Mermaids are incredibly diverse, and have adapted to living in many environments.

Nixies are a race of freshwater dwelling people who closely resemble mermaids. However, unlike mermaids, nixies can split their tails into legs, and freely move about land.

Nymphs are a race of beautiful and magically attuned humanoid beings, that live in various and diverse biomes, while bearing a deep connection with nature.

Small, lithe bipedal hound-like people with a preference for unsavory work. Their small frames make them agile and acrobatic, and they’re often seen as expert thieves and hunters.

Large giant humanoids that live within the desert. They are known both for their size and their ability to use the sands themselves as a weapon.

Tarsians come from another world entirely. It is unclear where they come from but they always first appear in Antarsia around the age of 10, but they do have memories of younger age.

A ocean dwelling race that originally had been mermaids, or born from a union of two mermaids and thought to be cursed.

A desert dwelling people whose name translates to “sun to earth”. They draw their powers from the sun, and are skilled in fighting creatures of the night, like werewolves and vampires.



Mythical Creatures

Bellonese are prideful creatures who rely on their instincts to get by. Each bellonese takes pride in the appearance and have a softer spot for those that are similar to it in its animalistic qualities.

Massive bears that relish in the terror of others. They have the uncanny ability to track the location of any species that isn’t another bugbear. These are only available during October.

Dragons are a very versatile species, and though they once originated from one type, these hardy creatures have now adapted forms to accommodate new territories and ways of life, and thrive even after enduring years of hardship and strife.

A creature born of pure magic, and to magic it will return. These can be either friendly or very volatile often having their element type affecting their personality.

Fearsome creatures with stoney hides that protect their homes to the death. These guardian creatures adorn important buildings, and are said to repel evil.

A species often misunderstood by the rest of the world by being labeled as a hybrid. This is far from the truth however. These creatures are actually their own species and from evolution have grown to survive in all types of climates and against all odds.

Kirin have gained a reputation across the realms as being bloodthirsty, murderous beasts. They use this reputation to their advantage to avoid capture, though many prefer to simply be left alone.

Kitsune are jovial creatures. Known for their games and fun, they can, however, go too far, bridging into cruelty. Whether it be for evil intent or a laugh, they are impulsive beings who don't always know how to stop.

Mystical birds with the unique ability to restore themselves to life. Phoenixes come in three varieties: Sodpaz, who use lightning, Onucitra who use ice, and Sertlom, who use fire. Phoenixes are available to create through the shop.

Tiny plant-like imps who are responsible for growing and tending to oasis in the desert, with seeds in their hearts. Their earth magic permeates the land around them, and without them desert life would be impossible.

Selkies are shapeshifters who wear the skins of sea-dwelling mammals to take on their animal form. Without their skin, they appear as beautiful humans.

The Sphinx is a masterpiece created by two gods. They are often seen as a prize treasure. They are very intelligent beings that some often believe they can see the future as well but this has never been proven.

Known for their beauty and horns, unicrosn are often hunted down for the magical powers they possess. They often live in forests known as “Unicorn Forests” are said to be kept forever lush and green, as a sign of the unicorns that live there, with the exception of autumn. Winters in unicorn forests are mild.

A deep sea dwelling race that only consists of females. They’re defined by their translucent bodies and beautiful bioluminescent markings.



Animalistic

Considered one of the most majestic species, Driare are known for their beauty and strength. They are one of the most versatile species in terms of their appearance. No two Driare are the same with even identical twins having slight variations from one another. They are one of the most adaptive species in Antarsia. Some can be as intelligent as a higher species such as an elf or demon or be as smart as a normal domestic horse.

Helvate are very dominating in personality with their pack numbers being normally only five max. They are soldiers in their own right and very loyal typically to one person instead of a group.

Considered to be very loyal and pack orientated, Kirkastas are very attached to their masters the angels. They often are raised among the angels are pets or guardians.

Originating from Prasinos, the Lions of Antarsia are looked up to for their bravery and honor. Worshipping both Karnos and Norak, the Falonde and Agrothron Prides live in relative peace, though each considers the other pride to be a rival, and constantly strives to be better than the other.

A gigantic manta ray species that has a reputation for being historians. They’re few and far between, and many believe them to be a myth.

Like most avians, Rukh are born from eggs. For the first year of their lives, they are completely dependent on their parents, as they do not have any feathers to protect them from the elements, nor can their eyes open. It is not until after this first year do these creatures start resembling birds at all. Once fully grown, these massive birds are a force to be reckoned with.

Wolves tend to stick together as a pack, but even they were not above fights which is why two packs now thrive instead of one.
