Tarsians

A rare species that seemed to appear from nowhere. No Oracle knows who they are and no god or goddess seems to have claimed them as theirs. They’re unknown, but they seem to keep to themself unless something major happens. These are extremely limited and released once a year. They are released through site-wide events and contests.

Aging

Tarsians come from another world entirely. It is unclear where they come from but they always first appear in Antarsia around the age of 10, but they do have memories of younger age. The aging thus far is as follows:

10 to 20 years: Adolescent
20 to 40 years: Young Adult
40 to 200+ years: Adult

Average Lifespan: Immortal. Species is rarely seen by the average person.

Diet

Tarsians typically eat similar to an elf for the most part taking care of their body and making sure to keep it fit and in.

Appearance

Tarsians are humanoid, with both male and female running to very tall heights in the sizes of elves, and men. They come in all skin tones. Their hair and eye color also will vary widely. Tarsians are often well fit with each one being trained from a young age. Those of old age will not display traditional signs of aging, though the strains of starvation can alter their bodies, sometimes irreparably. Due to this, physical age is determined less by initial appearance and more by scars; those hunters who have lingered longer are naturally more likely to incur a history of their combat and life experiences through the display of their scars.

Though Tarsians recognize no formal royal line, they are divided into houses similar to that of angels and demons, and always for the duration of their lives. Tattoos in similar color and design of each house are clearly visible on the face, arms, and occasionally torso of a Tarsian. When a Tarsian is around three years old they normally receive with a simple tattoo pattern that becomes more complex as their earn victories in their quests. These normally take the shape of whirls and jagged, tribal markings, but will vary from one to another. An exile from a house will have black brands burnt into the midst of their tattoos, interrupting the natural flow of their graceful colors with stark, ugly burns.

The three houses are Ka’lari, Iyari, and Tsu’tari native to Sleibte. Each house is in their own way born to kill. They must kill based on what their house demands of them to keep the natural balance should it call for it. The Ka’lari specialize in angels, demons, and elves, the Iyaria specialize in dragons, dwarves, and kitsune, while the Tsu’tari specialize in lions, wolves, and humans. They even are divided among the lesser species with the clans often overlapping based upon which gods created the newer species sometimes causing tension between clans. The Ka’lari typically has tattoos that are grey, black, and white with hints of more cool colors within their tattoos. Iyari have warm colored tattoos which include colors like red, orange, and brown. The Tsu’tari, on the other hand have tattoos that are colored in cool colors like blue, green, and purple.

Abilities

Tsu’tari : Tsu’tari are the most different from the other two clans because they have no magic resistance, but instead have other perks. They heal much faster than an average being, and they are more similar to the actual predators they hunt. They are extremely fast, often said to be able to outrun a cheetah and as strong as an actual tiger. These traits allow them to move smoothly and swiftly to kill their target with little effort in some cases.

Ka’lari : The Ka’lari are somewhat resistant to magic, but the interesting part of them is that they absorb the magic itself allowing them to turn it around the user as it increases their own magical ability. Not only that, but they often look almost identical to their prey, and can take on the appearance, voice, and personality of someone they just killed for a short time after to allow them take more prey quickly before they leave the area.

Iyarai : Iyarai are somewhat resistant to magic, but instead they often can make the magic cancel itself out with little effort. They do not absorb it like their brethren the Ka’lari. They can do one of two things, make it cancel itself out, or do the opposite of what the caster wants. They are also immune to illusions with the ability to see right through them with little to no effort.

Each clan’s champion has special abilities, but no one is quite sure what they are. Most do not survive against a champion and they are just as mysterious as they are rare to see. There is only one champion per clan and only they know how Tarsians are from and how they are born. They seem to hold a secret that weighs upon their whole species. Each Tarsians however can transform into their respective prey species. That is one common factor that all the clans have besides being born and their strange rituals involving the earning of tattoos.

History

Nothing is really known about them. Only two have been seen recently, and even then their existence is thought to be a myth and an illusion. What has been reported is they call their creator the ‘mother’.
