Locke Lightbringer
Posted by: King Fury - 05-09-2019, 06:54 PM - Forum: Character Profiles - Replies (1)

"Only in battle are we worthy."

Character's Name: Locke Lightbringer

Titles: Prince of Light, Lord of the Eclipse.

Age: Over 1000 years old, though appears to be in his late twenties.

Gender: Male

Species: Twisted Light Angel Royal

Abilities:
Locke, as a being caught somewhere between angel and demon, has the power to channel both light and darkness, as well as resistances to both. Though he once could wield the holy fire of the Royal Angels, his darkness has corrupted it and left him with Hellfire instead. He can use light magic to heal, and darkness magic to poison, but his healing abilities are only ever used on himself.

He is able to shift into a crow.

In battle, Locke uses a pair of cleaver-like blades on chains. The chains have no fixed length, extending to give him reach when he wishes, and retracting to bring the weapons back to his hands. Thanks to runes carved into the blades, they will channel fire magic in battle, though he can change this to hellfire if he wishes.

Appearance:
A very tall man with pitch black hair, Locke appears quite intimidating. Though not quite bulky, he is clearly muscular and physically sturdy. His hair is wild in the back, looking spiky and savage, though he keeps it relatively slick and ordered in the front. His face is relatively pretty, looking a lot like his younger brother, Lizair. He typically wears dark clothing, long robes and fine outfits. Underneath, he wears leather armors that protect his vitals and nothing else, leaving most of his chest and arms bare.

True Form:
In his true form, Locke appears as a large wolf covered in burning hell and holy fire. As he grows more dark, the holy fire slowly turns dark, corrupted into hellfire.

Personality:
If Locke were to be described in a single word, it would be "freedom." His purpose in life is to do what he wants, when he wants, with who he wants. He doesn't particularly care about authority, or the power others think they hold over him. He can be twisted and violent, gleefully fighting in the Angel Demon Wars, but that is entirely his choice, not because he has to.

His main redeeming quality is his actual love for his family. He does care about them deeply, even if he wouldn't feel too upset about having to kill them.

History:
Locke was created over a millennia ago, born both as a leader and a warrior. He was given a Fruit of Temptation, then caught in a ritual to try and halt the effects, leaving him as a sort of 'half-demon'. Over time, he has become more demonlike. Though he is currently considered the Heir of Light, angels are now looking at his younger brother as the proper heir, a fact he doesn't mind at all.

Players involved: Achera, Kila, King Fury, KokoPuffs, Sparx
Characters involved: Abraham (Sparx), Calista (KokoPuffs), Diaval (Achera), Eros (Kila), Milaeni (King Fury), Zacrae (Kila)
Setting: Haliea's Shrine, Light Territory
Time: Midday
Weather: Partly sunny, with a beautiful summer breeze

The young king of the love angels entered the observatory and removed the heart-shaped glasses he wore purely for aesthetic reasons so he could take a look around. In the bright midday sun the dark blue floors of the shrine positively gleamed in the light. The high noon sun really brought out the constellation-like flecks in the floor, and Eros couldn't help but admire how the whole thing had been polished to a near mirror shine. It was so reflective the young angel couldn't help but take a peek at himself, and with a pop of his collar and final placement of his glasses atop his head, he was looking... Well, he was looking like he was completely under dressed for the occasion. His grey v-neck was half tucked in, and he wasn't sure if he should leave it that way, tuck it in, or untuck it.

It was at times like this that Eros wished he had an assistant to tell him what looked good and what didn't as he stood there meddling with his shirt in the foyer of the observatory like a damn fool. "Nnnnnngh what am I suppoed to do?" He groaned, running both hands through his two-toned hair.

"Might I recommend a french tuck?" said a feminine voice behind him, soft as a whispering breeze. Eros turned and looked upon the fairest woman he had ever seen. Her skin was so pale it was almost white, and her equally white hair fell in loose waves over her shoulders and down her back. She was even dressed in a gauzy, lace-trimmed white gown that trailed after her like she'd walked straight out of a painting. Her blue eyes bored into his as she waited almost too patiently for an answer.

"I'm sorry, a... a what?" was all he could manage to sputter out, taken aback by this woman's glittering aura.

"May I, Lord Eros?" she asked, gesturing to his shirt.

"Uh, sure? But how do you--"

"I'm Lord Abraham's personal assistant, Zacrae," she replied coolly, tucking in just the front of his shirt before straightening out his collar and stepping back to take a final approving look. "Much more respectable," she said with a nod.

Eros took a look in the polished floor and gave an agreeing nod. "Not bad," he muttered to himself before looking at Zacrae once again. "Very dutiful of you to come before Abe to make sure everything's, uh, right and stuff?"

"I'm here to make sure things are ready for the meeting, yes. Lord Abraham likes things to go smoothly, so I came early to arrange refreshments for the lords and ladies," she said with a chuckle.

"Need some help?"

"I'd love some, thank you."

--

Before long the pair had filled the meeting room with chocolate pastries and glasses of refreshing lemonades. Zacrae had insisted he take a seat before the other lords arrived, and the pale angel had resumed her role as dutiful servant, waiting behind Abraham's chair for her lord to arrive, eagerly looking at the door with gentle eyes.

 Ezra
Posted by: NekoNay - 05-07-2019, 09:48 PM - Forum: Character Profiles - Replies (1)

[Image: ezra_by_nekonay_dd3w5ub-pre.png?token=ey...2dXE5EReFo]

Character Name: Ezra

Nickname: Currently goes under none.

Age: 58, just setting foot into young adulthood.

Gender: Male

Species: Kelahati

Abilities:

He possesses the uncanny wild magic known to their species, communicating his intentions and emotions to the local fauna. But it appears to be ableit weaker than the norm, only to affectively diffuse an unstable situation for a brief moment before both parties resume hostilities. He only managed to bond with a close animal companion, Rezul, an golden eagle, who accompanies him every step of the way. Ezra just managed the art of shapeshifting from their species, taking shape of a juvenile golden tiger. He doesn't seem to control this shape all too well, instincts overwhelming enough to take over so he prefers to his normal shape to keep a rigid control and discipline over himself. He himself has knowledge of medicine and weapons to defend himself if need be. When the gift of magic seems to elude him, he decided to pick such to remain on guard and sharp.

Appearance: Within the image above.

Personality:

Ezra is an individual often described as being rough, hard to read. He speaks with a sort of authority, often use to getting his way, showing 'tough love' to those who disregard his words. Often wearing a stoic mask, its difficult to read what this young man is quite thinking. However he has shown some bit of empathy, willing to assist those in need... while rebuking you for possibly placing yourself in a situation in thebfirst place.

He values strength above all else and he seems to appreciate a healthy dose of challenge every now and then. Impress him, he may be eager to speak more within your company, revealing bits and pieces of himself as time goes by. A hard shell individual with somewhat of a soft core.

History:

His history will be revealed as more attempt to speak with him. However what needs to known is, he is now a nomadic individual, living off the land, traveling from place to place in search of something. His jewelry and spear signified he held some importance where he once dwelled. Perhaps this will help crack this elude shell of his.

Roleplay Sample:

The fox thought first to say nothing, suspicious of the musician's actions and appearance. He thought himself stealthy but apparently not. But not many ventured into night, knowing the dangers that lurked beneath the moon but he seemed to carry himself with the upmost confidence.

"So it may seem," came his smooth response, maintaining a good distance between him and the musician. There never could be enough caution and he trusted very few, even humans who displayed a much better keener sense than most. "I am not alarmed," he corrected with a snort. He was least of all threatening when compared to a being of his strength. "More so curious I suppose."

He busied himself with collecting the curious fish of the pond. They gave a small sensation of energy to touch, a small ripple of what he presumed to be her power. It was... hard to describe but despite his curiosity, his eyes never strayed from the musician.

A test was in order. "Perhaps this was a rumor. You know how tales go. Always changing."

 Markell Dunebane
Posted by: King Fury - 04-29-2019, 09:59 PM - Forum: Character Profiles - Replies (1)

Character's Name: Markell Dunebane
Age: 2000 before he died.
Gender: Male
Species: Sphinx

Abilities: Magitech: Markell specializes in the creation of metallic constructs animated by his magical energy. Typically, he will use gems as focusers, but otherwise he just manipulates the metals into the shapes he wants with magic and then gives them a facsimile of life.

Outside of his creations, Markell only really knows how to use basic light magic and lightning magic.

Appearance: A large sphinx with the body of a tiger, Markell stands at head height for most humans. He has blue face paint around his eyes, forming complex patterns with the natural black rings. His hair is long and black, flowing down his back. He wears a headdress that frames his face from the front, making his head appear even larger than it already is. A carefully groomed beard stretches from his chin, extending down to a point like his headdress.

His most notable feature, however, would be the pair of large, metallic wings that sprout from his back. The main line of the wings, which would be bone in a bird, are made of gold, while the 'feathers' are silver. The parts aren't actually connected, but stay in formation thanks to magical energies that dance between them constantly.

In human form, he still has black hair, but loses both the beard and the headdress, instead simply appearing as a normal man. His skin is a deep tan, the result of desert living, and he wears simple robes suited for the climate. He still has the wings.

Personality: A somewhat excitable creator, Markell is easily lost in his work. He can, and will, devolve into babbling descriptions of what he's working on, often in terms that only make sense to him. Other than that, he will try to be friendly, though he views himself as smarter than just about everyone, and has the ego to match.

History: During his life, he invented many magical tools. He hoped that these technologies would revolutionize the world after he died. He was very disappointed.

Thread Status: Closed
Players involved: Kila, Roma
Characters involved: Brianna (Kila), Zaeren (Roma)
Setting: All of Sleibte
Time: Late at night, Haliea 25
Weather: Clear with storms rolling in on the horizon; heat lightning is present and common as thunder softly rumbles over the plains

Brianna had been out for a while.

Zaeren had carried her back to the cabin in the woods, and she'd been in and out of consciousness for parts of it. She recalled him opening the dark cabin and lighting a fire before he set her down on the furs on the floor. She recalled vaguely gesturing to her bag, though if words came out she couldn't say for sure. She continued to fade in and out as the different sensations overcame her--the wound being cleaned (that hurt quite a bit), her hair being tied back, the oily feeling of ointments being rubbed into the wound (she half recalled crying out and raking her claws through the fur blankets), and then... everything went dark.

And it stayed dark.

She was alone in her mind, surrounded by darkness, with herself being the only point of light around. She was in a pool, just floating on the surface, hair splayed out around her, completely numb to everything going on in the waking world. And it was quiet. Blissfully, peacefully silent. And then the thought occurred to her...

Am I dead?

It was her first thought in this world--her subconscious.

*You're not dead,* said a soft male voice from her right. Brianna turned her head in response, and there, sitting on the water's surface, was Kazae, the white lion. He stared at her with contemplative eyes, golden mane blazing like a fire, further illuminating the dark nothingness that surrounded them. He tilted his head and spoke again, *Would you rather be?*

No...? Brianna responded hesitantly. No. I'm rather glad I'm not dead. She chuckled.

So... if I'm not dead, am I dreaming?

*Ah,* said a feminine voice from her left, *Now there's the million gold question.* Brianna instantly knew this voice to be that of Danae, the kitsune. She turned her head and met the ebony beast's scarlet eyes. Unlike Kazae she was barely distinguishable from the darkness around her. The kitsune gave a swish of her many beautiful tails as she continued, *Not dead. Not dreaming. You just are, my dear.*

Kazae was quick to add on, *Your body is healing itself, and has been. Your light magic has...* he trailed off, as if uncertain of how to continue. Brianna watched him chew at his claws pensively, and she found herself trying to sit up in the water, though she was unable to.

Kazae?

*We can't sugar coat this, dear, it's best we just come clean with her.* It was the first time Brianna had ever heard Danae speak with... was that tenderness?

There were several awkwardly quiet moments as Kazae licked his paw and ran it over his ear and face. It felt as if Brianna had walked in on something she wasn't supposed to see--like she'd discovered a secret that she still wasn't quite privy to. Guys, what is going on? I'm so sick of you both knowing more about me than I do! she cried out, frustration at the edges of her voice.

The two spirit weapons locked eyes for a split moment and nodded in unison.

*Your magic is increasing. Whether you're aware of it or not, you're using your light magic right now to heal yourself.* Kazae's voice was as warm as the sun, and the more Brianna looked at him... the more his words seemed to ring true. Had his mane always blazed like that? Somewhere deep in her heart she knew it hadn't. *And with this new well of power comes greater risks.*

*The brighter the light becomes, the darker the shadow,* Danae added with a soft chuckle, though her words were tinged with concern. *There's so much more to you than you can imagine, Brianna... we just... can't quite tell you...*

*Because even we're uncertain--*

*We don't have all the answers you seem to think we have. Kazae and I just know the parts of you that you know, just... a bit more intimately.*

Ah, so it's still a riddle... Brianna sighed, though as she closed her eyes she felt a strange semblance of peace over not having all the answers. If even they were still in the dark, then maybe everything would be okay.

...

So how do I wake up?

*Oh my sweet, foolish girl,* Danae said.

*The answer is simple. All you need to do is*

*Open your eyes.* Their voices combined into one, and the kelahati found herself compelled to do exactly as they said...

She opened her eyes and found herself staring straight up at the ceiling.

The firelight was flickering gently, casting soft shadows that danced over the cabin's dark rustic walls. Even the dragon's skull mounted on the wall seemed less threatening than it had before. The soft crackling of the dwindling fire was a homey comfort, and outside the chirps of crickets mingled with the distant rumble of thunder. She could smell the humidity on the wind through cracked windows, and the air was bursting with the smell of rain. It would turn into a stormy night...

Aside from the fire in the fireplace the cabin was dark. A glance out the window told her it was well after sunset; she could see flickers of starlight between flashes of distant lightning. It was only then that her stomach began to growl. Ravenously. And it was at that moment that the obvious question came to the forefront of her mind:

How the fuck long had she out for?

As she tried to get up to remedy her painfully empty belly a sharp jolt radiated down her spine, and she gasped a little more sharply than she'd intended. Propped up on one elbow and halfway between being rolled onto her back it came into stark clarity just how far Zaeren had gone in treating her wound. She was shirtless, save for the bandages that wrapped around her exposed breasts, and there were either several layers--as the wound wasn't seeping through--or the wound was already scabbing over. But judging from the need for bandages, that likely wasn't the case.

But gods above did it hurt.

Her eyes fell on the man sleeping next to her. The man who had supported her as she walked out of the dragon halls at her own foolish request, carried her back home, and then so tenderly cared for her... Let him rest, she thought. It's the least he deserves.

She managed to work her body until she was sitting upright, but each movement of her spine elicited a soft mewl of a pained gasp from her lips. Damn, she hadn't felt pain like that in a long time. It was like fire in her back and shoulders, and one wrong move would have her tearing up in pain.

But at least the pain meant she was alive.

 Riath
Posted by: King Fury - 04-25-2019, 02:41 PM - Forum: Character Profiles - Replies (1)

Character's Name: Riath
Age: Unknown
Gender: Female
Species: War Demon
Relationships: Charlotte (Master), TBA

Abilities:
Necromancy - Riath can draw power from the deaths of creatures, using the power of the death to fuel spells. With this power she can heal or harm, though the stronger spells require a stronger creature's death. She can also reanimate dead bodies, though this doesn't require her to kill to cast.

Shapeshifting - Riath can turn into a raven and a cobra.

Appearance:
Riath is somewhat pale woman with long red hair that stretches to her hips. She has crimson eyes, matching the color of her hair. She stands at about 5'8, though often appears much larger due to the pair of black wings that sprout from her back. She doesn't always have these wings, but will often have them, only retracting them when they would be inconvenient. While they are not strong enough for flight, she can use them to glide.

Riath will typically wear plain, simple outfits designed for comfort and sturdiness, but will occasionally wear a crimson, somewhat revealing dress.

Personality:
Despite what her abilities would suggest, Riath is quite possibly one of the nicest people you could ever meet. She does her best to keep her anger in check, and goes out of her way to try to help others around her. Though she has the strength and stamina typical of War demons, she lacks the mental state required to use them to fight. While not incapable of combat, she is not a warrior, and the idea of taking the life of anything sentient is almost incomprehensible to her.

She is polite, calm, and gentle whenever possible, and is the opposite of what one would expect from a war demon.

 Naeri Thunderhoof
Posted by: Kila - 04-24-2019, 09:35 PM - Forum: Character Profiles - Replies (1)

Character's Name:

Naeri Thunderhoof

Nicknames:

N/A

Age:

200

Gender:

Female

Species:

Driaere (Ryein) / Unicorn

Abilities:

Lightning Magic - Naeri is aptly named for her use of thunder magic. It swirls around the underside of her coat, in her hooves, eyes, and horn. When she runs lightning crackles around her, and if she runs fast enough she creates thunder. She channels her lightning magic through her horn, which she can direct out as singular blasts. Other times she can release blasts from her hooves, or even her entire body.

Speed - An exceptionally fast runner. She can create thunder in her wake, and can be very difficult to catch. She uses this for her advantage (and to show off how great she is).

Unicorn magic - Being half unicorn, Naeri has some degree of unicorn magic. While more diluted than that of her father she's still able to cast protective magic, which she often combines with her lightning magic to produce hot, crackling shields. These shields are immensely hard to break. She's unsure if she can grant wishes or not, as she's never been captured.

Longer Life - Naeri has a longer lifespan than Driaere, thanks to her unicorn blood. She doesn't know how long she'll end up living, and vows to make the best of her life.

Personality:

Independent - Naeri cares little for associating with others. Herd life has never quite been for her, and she prefers to do her own thing. Leaving others behind in the dust is not a concern of hers, and she rather enjoys the bewildered faces of those who are unaware of her speed. She's always been fine on her own, perhaps thanks to her unicorn heritage. Either way, Naeri is fine without others, and much prefers solitude over gossipy nags. Her independence leads to something a little less desirable for those unlucky enough to befriend her: she's loyal to herself, first and foremost. If the going gets tough, Naeri gets going. Not that she minds.

Aggressive - While some would call it aggressive, Naeri prefers the term assertive. She gets what she wants, regardless of what she has to do or who gets hurt in the process. She's loud in her opinions, and isn't one to be talked over (though this only applies to her). She's quick to put her hoof down, and woe betide anyone who keeps pressing the issue. Naeri isn't immune to lashing out in anger, and she has a fairly low boiling point. It's not difficult to irritate her, and she'll lash out with a well placed kick to shut someone up or put them in their place.

Haughty - A likely side effect of being half unicorn, Naeri has a complex. She's superior to everyone that isn't a unicorn, and she'll make sure you know it. She's patronizing, snide, and can be downright cruel with her words. She's choosy about who she associates with, which in her herd? Is no one. She's arrogant and a bit too full of herself, with a hefty ego.

Brash - Never one to mince words, Naeri is incredibly brash and upfront about, well, everything. She doesn't care if her often too brutal honesty hurts feelings. Some might find her rude, but she calls it "being honest" and "saying what needs to be said". It's no wonder why she has zero (0) friends, but she's quite happy with that. This, coupled with her assertiveness, has made her a rather prickly individual. But unlike a cactus, she's not soft on the inside. In fact, Naeri is perhaps even more aggressive on the inside, like an apple full of worms.

Calculating - Naeri wants nothing more than to have the best, and to get that she plays smart. Every social move she makes is deliberate. A well placed suggestion here, some advice there, maybe a rumor or two--it's all to serve her own purpose. Life is a game, and she'd much prefer to be the winner.

History:

Naeri was born in a unicorn forest. Here she witnessed the glory of her father's people, and decided she would be everything they were and more. She didn't make many friends as a foal, sheltered away by her mother in fear of the noble unicorn class. And a few years after her birth Naeri's mother took her back to her home herd, something Naeri has always resented. Why should she have to settle for hanging around common nags when she was a unicorn? Her sour attitude only worsened as she got older, though this was curbed by her mother's kindness and wisdom.

Her time among the unicorns had weakened her mother significantly, and her ill health worsened from no longer being kept fit and healthy by the unicorn's magic. And so one harsh winter Naeri found her mother dead in a field. But all Naeri felt was resentment. Her mother had died without telling her how to return to her father's home, and she could never, ever forgive her for that. And so her bad attitude worsened without the guiding light of her mother.

Character's Name:

Chieko

Nicknames:

-n/a-

Age:

368

Gender:

Female

Species:

Kitsune

Height:

Humanoid: 4'9"

Fox: 8"

Weight:

Humanoid: 102 Lbs

Fox: 2.5 lbs

Abilities:

Illusions: Though she only has two whole tails on her body, she can still certainly make illusions; though not as powerful or as real as older Kitsune.

Fire Magic: Whether it manipulating fire that is already around her, or even conjuring up some of her own; her skills aren't the best as of just yet. She still has plenty of practice to hone her skills and bring them to perfection.

Personality:

Though Chieko looks like a sweet, little thing, blessed with being adorable and overly cute; she is probably quite the opposite. Besides looking like an innocent angel, she can be quite the little shit when it comes down to it. True to the Kitsune nature, she can find herself being a tricky little thing; casting pranks on those who are unsuspecting. Though they don't always turn out so well, as she is still young and working on getting better with it; her illusions can and will easily fall apart. Which is why she casts small ones, it's a lot harder to see past something small.

She is a sweetheart though to those she calls friends and other she cares about, such as family. Chieko can show a whole other side of herself when she gets to know someone. Though even if she is small in stature, she'd fight off the biggest creature for those she loves; putting herself in danger's way.

Players involved: Kila, Kokopuffs
Characters involved: Fallow (Kila), Lijuan (Kokopuffs)
Setting: Sodanryn Forest and the surrounding areas
Time: Current, early morning
Weather: Partly cloudy with a mild breeze

The gentle light of the early morning sun streamed through the canopy of the Sodanryn forest, casting shifting, dappled shadows across the dense underbrush. Fallow navigated the deer trails with surprising ease--he was a deer kelahati, after all, but more importantly this forest had been his home for as long as he could remember. He knew these secret trails like the back of his slender, pale hands.

It had been a startling turn of events that had proven to be the catalyst for this change. Meeting Lijuan had gotten the young man curious about life outside his forest, and after many weeks spent with the kirin he had decided to take the very, very brave step of venturing outside his forest home (though first they'd have to leave the deep heart of the ancient forest).

And that brought him to where he currently was, traipsing about deer trails and heading southwest towards civilization. Redstone Keep. It seemed like a good first step on his venture outside Sodanryn, being a mountain haven for humans, dwarves, and kelahati alike. He was quite certain he'd picked a good place to see, at least from the map's point of view. He'd seen the mountains on his occasional trips to the forest outskirts, and this was his chance to see them up close and personal. And most importantly: he wasn't alone.

HEY! So you know how in all languages we have phrases that are based on our culture? WELLL GUESS WHATTTTT! 8D Lets make some for the species and characters in this world.

Note: Any on this thread and posted to the masterlist (which will be added to this post) can be used in RP for characters! Like for instance they could be based on a certain god or a swear by their species lifestyle.

If you suggest one just please add if it's geared towards a certain species, god, or what 8D~!
