As first tested in November, Google is rolling out a big redesign of the web Play Store that brings it inline with other services after many years of the same user interface.
First and foremost, the new layout makes extensive use of negative space, giving each app listing plenty of room to stand out. The redesign also swaps out the left-hand sidebar for the top navigation that highlights tabs for games, apps, books, movies, and kids.
On individual app pages, the redesign really looks like an overblown mobile view. A huge title lets you know which app you're viewing, along with an equally huge icon on the right. A right-aligned sidebar gives you developer contact options and further app suggestions, while the rest of the interface is designed much like the mobile app, with download numbers, ratings, and age restrictions right in view.
Movies & TV gets a similar treatment and has a nice browsing experience, while the Library tab is very much like the Android version. Unfortunately, as far as we can tell, there’s no dark theme. This follows the Android redesign in October that brought over Material You.
However, not every tab and section in the new layout was given equal attention. For example, the links to your library and wishlist in the Books tab still use the old design. The books tab in the Library section was also left out in the cold.
The search experience has also been revamped. Like in the Play Store app, you'll get many more auto-complete recommendations when you start typing out queries, and you'll also have direct access to an app listing when you've typed out name matches well enough. In that case, you're redirected to a search page that gives you additional details about the result you were likely looking for, listing the rest of the apps in question in a horizontally scrolling carousel. Not really the best way to make use of the big screen, but at least you won't be overwhelmed by the sheer number of results as in the past anymore.

A terminal block (also called as connection terminal or terminal connector) is a modular block with an insulated frame that secures two or more wires together. A titanium washer is a thin plate (typically disk-shaped, but sometimes square) with a hole (typically in the middle) that is normally used to distribute the load of a threaded fastener, such as a bolt or nut. Other uses are as a spacer, spring (Belleville washer, wave washer), wear pad, preload indicating device, locking device, and to reduce vibration (rubber washer). High-quality bolted joints require hardened steel washers to prevent the loss of pre-load due to brinelling after the torque is applied. Washers are also important for preventing galvanic corrosion, particularly by insulating steel screws from aluminium surfaces. They may also be used in rotating applications, as a bearing.
A titanium screw and bolt are similar types of fastener typically made of metal and characterized by a helical ridge, called a male thread (external thread). Screws and bolts are used to fasten materials by the engagement of the screw thread with a similar female thread (internal thread) in a matching part. Screws are often self-threading (also known as self-tapping) where the thread cuts into the material when the screw is turned, creating an internal thread that helps pull fastened materials together and prevents pull-out.
Of all metals in their purest form, tungsten has the highest melting point (3422°C). This can be hugely beneficial in certain situations (particularly when compared to other more common metals). For example, it makes tungsten an excellent material for high-temperature environments – and this is why it is so widely used in the aerospace, automatic and construction industries. Tungsten metal is also regularly used to create alloys and superalloys. Its extremely high melting point and resistance to thermal creep help to strengthen the alloy, making it suitable for more thermally intensive applications, where other metals would fail.
The molybdenum filament is silvery white, very hard transition metal, but is softer and more ductile than tungsten. Molybdenum is a valuable alloying agent, as it contributes to the hardenability and toughness of quenched and tempered steels. It also improves the strength of steel at high temperatures. Molybdenum is used in alloys, electrodes and catalysts. Molybdenum filament is used in certain nickel-based alloys, such as the "Hastelloys®" which are heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant to chemical solutions. Molybdenum filament oxidizes at elevated temperatures. The metal has found recent applications as electrodes for electrically heated glass furnaces and foreheaths. The metal is also used in nuclear energy applications and for missile and aircraft parts.
