"I was attacked by a dragon. It wasn't an easy fight, and by the end, the only reason I'm still alive was that she jumped in. It was hurt, and no match for her, so she killed it and helped heal me." He looked down. "It's how I got my name."

He glanced back up. "And then she invited me to join the pack."

Azel nodded. "That sounds like her, yes. Though - may I ask how you got into that fight in the first place?"

Shade shrugged. "I don't actually remember. I might have wandered into its turf."

Azel blinked at him - once, twice. "You don't remember," she echoed. "How do you not remember how you got into a fight with a dragon?"

"I don't actually know why it attacked me. Or, at least, I can't recall it. Getting mauled by a thing of fire and death made it hard to remember some things." Shade felt a little uncomfortable, and stepped back into the shadows.

Azel considered for a few moments. "I suppose that makes sense," she said at last, forcing herself not to follow her new conversational partner.

Shade hopped up into the tree, using the shadows on the branches to easily transport up there. "Still, it was an interesting way to meet the pack. And to earn my name."

Shade looked down at her. "Wingwrecker. She gave me the name Wingwrecker."
