Shade lowered his head slightly. "Not really. I should have been able to catch it without help." He ducked his head down slightly further, sniffing the remains. He wasn't hungry, but his shadowwalking would fix that.

Azel looked at him levelly. "You likely could have, but hunting with a partner is generally more effective, especially with small, fast prey. If you were refusing the food because of that, you are welcome to it."

"I'm not hungry." He made a quiet noise of non-agreement, and looked back at the rising sun. "What are you planning for today?"

Azel considered for a few moments. "To be honest, I'm not entirely certain yet. My time is not the most strictly scheduled. Perhaps I will continue to hunt; perhaps I will play with the pups." She sat down and looked over Shade. "And what of yourself?"

"I'm not sure. Keep an eye out for dangers, I suppose. With the Queen gone..." His voice trailed off sadly.

Shade glanced down. "She's the one who brought me into the pack."
