"Two years, I think?" He wasn't sure what he was doing or where he was going. Part of him screamed to get away from her and just be alone, but he tried to ignore it. Without the queen around, he needed to talk to other members of the pack.

Azel nodded and lapsed into silence, padding along with wherever he deigned to go.
That lasted for all of two minutes before she scented prey and went still, trying to pinpoint just where it was.

Shade could scent it as well, and closed his eyes to try and pinpoint the prey. He could probably shadow to catch it. Probably.

She turned her nose upwards slightly and shifted to pad closer to one tree. There it was.

Shade watched for a moment, then dashed forward. The rabbit hiding in the tree made a panicked squeak and tried to escape, with Shade giving chase. After a moment, he dipped into a shadow and began to appear in every one the rabbit got close to, just trying to tire it out.

Azel ran after it more directly, weaving about as the rabbit veered away from every shadow Shade appeared in. Its wild course meant she was gaining ground fairly quickly - insofar as a wolf could gain ground on a rabbit, at least.

Shade was growing tired. He could probably outlast a rabbit, but that didn’t mean he wanted to have to. He saw the rabbit was growing more panicked, so he appeared in a shadowy directly in front of it. It stopped, desperately trying to turn around and get away, not realizing that it’s course would take it right in to other wolf.

Azel's jaws snapped shut around the rabbit's ears, effectively trapping it. She lifted it up off the ground, just in case, and stepped over to her present hunting partner.

Shade frowned slightly and shook his head. He'd already had his fillt. "You can have it." He wasn't sure he'd really talked to anyone like this in a long time.

Azel nodded and lifted a paw to rake her claws across the tiny creature's neck, killing it effectively. Once it stopped twitching, she set it down gently, not particularly hungry at present. "You hunt well."
