RE: Once upon a modern tale - KokoPuffs - 03-12-2020

The woman smiled over to him for a moment, just as her eyes soon scanned over to the server beside them. They greeted her as usual, this was a place she came often, if how she talked to the server was any indication of that. Yukiji ordered her usual beverage, a bottle of soju to go along with her meal; always her beverage of choice around here. She gave the server a friendly smile as they walked away, her eyes now scanning over the menu. When Deimos spoke up, she finally looked over it but for a minute.

"Hmm? Are you really going to put me at the hands of ordering the meat?" she chuckled softly, "I suppose you are at my mercy then, aren't you~ But, since I'm not eating alone this time, I'll have to order a little extra." Yukiji sent a sly smile his way, just before her face was hidden once again behind the menu. There was everything from beef, pork, chicken.. and ever squid. Though, that was something she NEVER cared to eat, even as a child.

As she was deciding, it seemed Deimos spoke up once again; this time she didn't seem to look up. "You want to know more about me you say?" the woman asked curiously, though it was thoughtful of him for certain, "can't say I've enjoyed my time with a man long enough for him to even want to know me more. I am liking you more and more, Sir Deimos~"

"Well you most certainly know my name, meaning I don't have to start there," a smiled crossed her plush lips, "I was born here of all places and if gods see fit I might just die here too. I've spent, so many years watching everything here grow and develop... I'm sure humans by now have forgotten they aren't the only species in this world."

He blinked at her looking surprised. He never would have pegged her for being born here, but then again he was old. He had no idea how old she really was and maybe she wasn't that old at all, but it was odd to find another dragon let alone a young one. Gods Roma was never going to let me live this down. He could hear her laughing at him already in the small part of his brain that new his sister loved to laugh at the things he got up to because to her they were minor. He for some reason had thought she was older perhaps even older than this country itself. Then again what she said didn't mean she wasn't, but it was hard to live in the same area for a long time especially in modern times and not get noticed for never changing in age. It drew too much attention and well humans were never good about handling things they didn't quite understand.

"However I am no Sir," he said with a chuckle. "I am by no means that honorable that you should compare me to the knights of legends. I do have many flaws that some other people might find detestable." By people he meant humans and he had no real shame about eating a person. He knew he was a dragon and he never let the fact that he had a human form give him that much weakness towards the other species. Yes, he could bond with them still, but at the end of the day he was a dragon and they were always finding some new way to be a thorn to him. These new weapons of mass destruction, for example, was a prime case for how big of a thorn they could be. Dragons never needed to wipe them out, they were handling that for themselves mighty well. "You can just call me Dei as well. Most of my friends call me that instead of my full name."

He wondered if she knew what the name meant. The humans had given it a meaning long ago. Latin was the language they called it if he remembered it right. His name meant 'dread' and it was also the name of a god of terror in Greek myths. "Why have you never considered looking at the world? Like other parts of it I mean?"

The woman smiled softly, attention solely on the man before her; she even reached out to gently take his hand in her own. It was then she slowly ran her other hand over the back of his, nails delicately running across his darker skin. "Of course you have your flaws, we all do, no matter the species my dear," Yukiji brought his hand up to her face, lip ghosting delicately across the tips of his fingers, "our flaws are what make us whole, don't you think? A little boring if we didn't have any, a perfect being just sounds... horrible if you ask me. I like a man with a few flaws, and who isn't afraid to show them, Dei~"

There wasn't anyway that she did know what his name meant unfortunately, but that was alright; even if she did, it wasn't as if she even cared or not. Compared to his own age, she was probably much younger than him, but at this point did it really matter? Age for them did not mean a thing the older one became, it only meant one has been alive longer. "Hmmm? Me? Perhaps I have before," her hands were now back towards herself, one holding her head up in thought, "I don't know why I've never taken the chance. Maybe I just don't like the idea of traveling alone."

RE: Once upon a modern tale - Andromeda - 04-06-2020

"Why does traveling along worry you? I know eastern people typically are social but I find western culture is both social and we can also be isolationist," he admitted being very careful to keep the talk to where if a human heard it that they would think they meant humans. "I mean we are very much about our independence. We do not care to be tied to one thing. I figured with how you are you might be the same but then again I can understand some reservations at the idea of just getting up and leaving unknowing of when one might return. It is a daunting and frightening concept to those that have roots in one place."

He gave her hand a little squeeze and smile. "Now enough of this sad talk. I believe that is our waiter coming with our food. Would you like to cook or should I give it the old good try?"

RE: Once upon a modern tale - KokoPuffs - 04-09-2020

"Honestly I can really say why it does, maybe it because I've become so use to living in such a... well populated city," she sighed softly, though her face held a soft smile upon it, "I've never even traveled with my parents either, they go wherever they please when they want really. I don't think I could get behind that kind of living really. Besides my dear, I have a lovely business to run here in the city. A shame if I just up and left my girls you know." They'd become like a large family to her, she cared for them and they certainly did for her. Though they held their respects for her as their boss, but knew she was friendly enough and not that harsh either. There were times she needed to be, however, when dealing with employees that deserved it.

Yukiji gazed up to him again, a little surprised by the gentle squeeze of her hand. "Oh! I believe you are right, love, I think I will allow you to give it a hand.. or the 'old college try' as I've heard some say before," she couldn't help but to let out a soft giggled when the waiter finally came up. He held a large try of not only meats, but plenty of sides that went along with it, and not forget their drinks as well.

Deimos chuckled oh this would be different. He normally ate out or hired someone to cook for him. He was spoiled in his own little ways. He looked at the meat and the sauces. It looked all the same to him. He pull out three different strips of meat and seasoned each one with a different sauce and began to try to cook them. He kept poking it seeing to guard the meat every moment to make sure it didn't burn. Despite being a fire dragon, cooking did not come natural to him.

"It's a shame really. I feel like you would like the world if you got to see it. You might even give up your business for it, but again it's always your choice," he said as he turned the meat over. "Personally I don't think I'd ever really want to  be tied down anywhere... I like my freedom."

He took one strip off and then the next before finally removing the last strip. "Here taste and it let me know how bad I did," he laughed as he poked the meat towards her.

RE: Once upon a modern tale - KokoPuffs - 04-14-2020

Without thinking, she took the cooked meat from the man, with a pair of her own chopsticks in hand; only to throw it into her mouth. It was good, she had to admit, but not her own taste to be more than honest about it. His first time doing this was good, perhaps he'd get more use to it if they were to hang around more. At the thought of that, she blushed and smiled, just before swallowing what was in her mouth. "You did not to bad, I can assure you of that darling," she commented, "certainly not how I usually cook the meat here, but I'm sure you like things you're own way too."

Yukiji smiled softly to him, just as she went to cook a few more strips of meat over the little grill. When she did it, they weren't left on too long, just enough to cook the outside for certain cuts of meat. Others, she cook through, but not till they were tough to chew. "Hmm, maybe, I suppose I can't be there forever," a soft frown came across her face now as she thought about it, "having the same establishment over so long would be strange, especially with an owner who doesn't age as well."

The woman took a bite of meat, but make sure to couple it with a few sides as well. It gave more flavor and texture to compliment it well. "Take me on a trip one day and how me the world then," her face contorted into a cheeky grin, one that could be seen in her eyes, "show me exactly what it's like, since you seem to be so... diverse in it~"

"I won't say I'm a pro or completely knowledgeable about the world but I will take you. Is there any place in particular you would like to go," he asked watching her closely. "Personally I'd love to go see Europe agaim but you may be curious about others."

He let the thought hang in the air as he thought  of his new job. He wouldn't be able to travel all the time with her but every now and then sure. He had to keep to his contract too. "I'm open for anything as long as I still get to work."

RE: Once upon a modern tale - KokoPuffs - 05-05-2020

The small woman took another piece of raw meat, cooking it over the small grill in the table; her ears just tuning into the sound of the sizzle it made on contact. "Wait, really now?" she turned her head up, eyes wide with confusion for but a moment, "are you saying you'd take me on a trip, a woman you have barely just met and well.. done other things with, over perhaps someone you could call a lover?" She didn't think he'd be so... ok with something like this, taking a woman with him on a trip, and anywhere she might want to go. Hell, perhaps SHE didn't know where she wanted to go. Life spent no where but this city alone, through the times it has changed with the passing years; growing not only in population, but size itself. It boggled her, even if she had to admit it really was a lovely idea. Taking off with this man, out of country, somewhere new to HER. The thought alone... pulled a soft hue to her cheeks.

"You really do flatter me, Deimos," she smiled softly, her red eyes locking into his own, "but I can only hope its something you want as well, not just for my sake darling. You're a model, you have so many chances to be around beautiful men and women~ I mean, I'm not UGLY by an standards, but I'd hate to ruin you're fun love."

RE: Once upon a modern tale - Andromeda - 05-10-2020

Deimos laughed deeply from his heart there. "My dear you mistake me. I am not afraid to jump into the unknown of travels with someone I do not know. I know you pose no real threat to my lively hood and everyone wants freedom. Everyone wants to know they can be free should they choose to be and that is what I am offering you. Freedom from this town. What you do with it is of your own accord. I won't hold you to my side or tell you to always stay with me. You can easily sample the tasting of the other countries' men for all I care. It is true I do not know you, but I have no reason to not like you either. I figured you'd enjoy seeing another side of the world. One you haven't seen or tasted perhaps," his smile was very playfully as he cooked his own food and ate some more stopping only to take a sip of his drink here and there to help wash it down.

He finished his drink and motioned for a refill. The waiter came and refilled it and he took a small sip. "I mean we are not in a relationship so anything you did in the other country would be entirely your business."
