Kraken

Enormous Cephalopods that prowl the deep oceans. They occasionally sink ships. These are extremely rare creatures and must be purchased through the site's shop in order to create one.

Aging

Krakens grow to adulthood quickly, but stop aging once they reach that point. Krakens will keep growing as long as they are alive, though the growth slows after adulthood is reached. Some have lived much longer than the average, but it is unknown if they are immmortal.

Diet

Kraken hunt large beasts in the deep seas like whales and sometimes leviathans. If a ship wanders into their paths, they will attempt to consume it and everything aboard. They can eat any organic matter, so the wood of the ships will often also be consumed. However, this is not always the case, and the ruins of many ships have been found bearing the telltale marks of kraken attacks.

Appearance

Kraken are massive sea creatures that resemble octopi, squid, cuttlefish, or nautili. They all have boneless bodies with massive tentacles or arms that are used to constrict prey and bring them towards beak-like mouths. Coloration and actual limb numbers do vary between specimens, with some having as few as four limbs or as many as twenty. Some are capable of changing their coloration to blend into their surroundings. Some have massive shells in a spiral pattern. These shells can vary in coloration, but all are used as some form of camouflage.

Abilities

Depending on the Kraken, some are capable of camouflage, while others are capable of hypnotism. Krakens cannot use magic, but make up for this with high speed and powerful limbs. All Kraken can fight by constricting, though a few also are capable of using poison or filling the water with clouds of ink. A lack of bones allows them to be very flexible, and many of them can squeeze into areas much smaller than it seems like they could. Some rare variants even have massive shells for protection, but this limits their maneuverability, as the shells prevent them from being able to squeeze into tight spaces. This does not prevent them from being able to get into tight spaces, only preventing them from getting their whole bodies in. The shells are thick and tough, capable of withstanding massive amounts of punishment and keeping the creature inside almost completely safe from harm. While not invincible, it is very effective.
